Jan Carver
Dental Assistant
Jan grew up in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Food Science and Industry. She loved her job in Food Science, but after marrying a sailor, having three kids, and moving around every 3.5 years with the Navy, Food Science and the long commute no longer worked. That was when dentistry called for her.
She started in children's dentistry in Louisiana teaching young children about good oral hygiene with a hippo named Bippo. She continued in dentistry as their family made their last move in 1997 to Poulsbo, WA. Her three kids are now grown up and have children of their own. She had, and still has, short commutes, and four day work weeks.
Currently, Jan is assisting the dentist with all restorative procedures and learning how to use new dental technology. Meeting new patients, catching up with some familiar faces, and helping people understand what's going on is what she likes the most. No two people are ever the same and no procedure is ever the same.
Living in the PNW is the best and she tries to take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities available. Hiking is great, but nowadays she finds herself a little off the trail looking for mushrooms, or Big Foot. The hunt is on! She hopes to see you out there too.
